JJ. Jaantje, known as JJ is a 3 yr old Irish Sport Horse mare. She's owned by Kris and Greg Robinson.
JJ came in September of 08 for ground work training to prepare her for the American Warmblood Inspection in October. Kris had spent lots of time working with her since buying her as a youngster. The Smart Start Team worked on perfecting her ground manners, trailer loading, clipping, standing still, leading more respectfully - all the things expected of a Smart Start Horse.
JJ did well at the inspection and the judge made a comment on her excellent "trainability" along with all of her other wonderful talents as a sport horse which made the Smart Start team quite proud of what they had done with JJ.
In June of 09 Rick started JJ under saddle. Some of the pictures are of Kris's first ride on JJ. The time Kris had spent working on what we do with horses, the time Kari spent teaching JJ to perfect her ground manners and to canter on the line all paid off. JJ is accelerating every ride in her talents and learning. She's much more flexible and coordinated under saddle than a horse who hasn't had the ground work built in so nicely. She's going to be a super dressage horse!
